Dongju ,Taiwan

I often imagine where things older than myself came from, and where they are going.
On an island with limited resources, I’ve learned from residents to cherish every object that exists. These predecessors, whose lifespans stretch beyond calculation in the universe, teach through their presence, revealing possibilities and offering inspiration.

A roof that lets in light, water, and wind
We dwell in it—
With light, water, wind, and skin—
We always belonged together.

Roof was built together with volunteers gathered through the "Dapu Plus" team—using our bodies, hands, and time. We lived and worked in the Dapu village, learning from the residents and from each other.
On Dongju Island, a piece of land far from my original home, I slowly began learning how to take care of myself. On this seemingly barren land, I discovered a kind of richness—learning from the long history of human life, and from the people who still carry and use that wisdom today. They live with care, and with a quiet sense of joy.
In an age of consumerism, how do we really want to live?
